A 64-year-old woman was pronounced deceased after the vehicle she’s driving collided with a truck on Farm to Market Road 1485 in New Caney, Saturday evening.
The fatality was identified as Irma DeLangel Gonzalez, 64.
According to initial reports, Gonzalez was driving a Toyota Corolla when a southbound F-150 pickup truck, for yet unknown reasons, drifted into her path and collided head-on with her Toyota. Police said that the pickup initially crossed the center turn lane and into the northbound lane where it struck the sedan. The impact of the crash trapped Gonzalez insider the wreckage. She had to be extricated by East Montgomery County Fire Department. Unfortunately, despite life-saving measures, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Barry Lee Tarver of Cleveland, 51, was rushed to Conroe Regional Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Investigators have yet to determine the reason why Tarver crossed the center line.
