Motorcyclist strikes HFD medic unit on I-45 in downtown Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A motorcyclist was injured Tuesday evening in a collision involving an ambulance on Interstate 45 near downtown Houston, according to Click2Houston.

The incident occurred near West Dallas Street at approximately 5:38 p.m.

Houston Police Department said a Houston Fire Department ambulance was stopped in freeway traffic when the motorcycle slammed into the truck before being struck by another vehicle.

Medics got out from the impacted ambulance and administered aid to the motorcyclist. The rider was transported to an area hospital, where the severity of their condition remains undisclosed.

No one in the ambulance was reported injured, though it was unclear how the party in the third vehicle was impacted.
