MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — A 25-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle was hit by another driver on Farm-to-Market Road 1314 in southeast Conroe, according to Montgomery Police Reporter.
The fatal accident happened near the entrance to Thunder Gun Range south of Texas Highway 242, shortly after 3:00 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the victim was riding a Ducati motorcycle northbound on the road when the male driver of a southbound Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck failed to yield to the rider. As the pickup turned into the gun range, it hit the motorcycle nearly head-on, causing the bike to go under the truck.
Authorities said the victim, a Humble resident, was ejected in the crash and died from his injuries at the scene.
A section of the road was initially closed for about 30 minutes and then partially reopened as Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers continued an investigation.
No further details have been released at this time, but the driver of the pickup told authorities he did not see the motorcyclist prior to the crash.
