Motorcyclist dies after street race crash on W Little York Rd in Katy

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died early Saturday after crashing his motorcycle during a street race with another motorcyclist near northeast Katy, according to FOX29.

The fatal collision occurred on West Little York Road near the Briarstone Bay Drive intersection at about 12:30 a.m.

An early investigation indicates two motorcyclists were racing each other when one of them lost control. Moments later, the victim collided with a metal light pole, throwing him off his bike. Authorities said he came to rest in the roadway with severe injuries to a leg.

Medics rushed the injured rider to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

No other injuries have been reported, but police arrested the other rider for racing.
