Motorcyclist dies after high-speed collision on FM 2920 in Spring

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died Sunday night after losing control of his motorcycle on Farm to Market Road 2920 near central Spring, according to NTV Houston.
The fatal accident occurred on the eastbound lanes (Spring Cypress Road) approaching Interstate 45, near Northland Center.
A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was riding eastbound on the road when he stopped at a red light. Authorities said after the light turned green, the rider had accelerated at such a high speed that he was unable to complete a turn. The motorcycle collided with a center median, which caused the rider to eject from the bike.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed deputies.
