MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — A 30-year-old The Woodlands man died Thursday night after a high-speed motorcycle accident off State Highway 99 in southwest New Caney, according to Montgomery County Police Reporter.

The fatal wreck occurred on the westbound feeder road approaching Valley Ranch Parkway, shortly before 10:00 p.m.

Authorities said the man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he passed through the right shoulder and was believed to have clipped the wall, sending him across the westbound lanes. Moments later, the motorcyclist hit the curb, causing the bike to flip and eject the rider.

MCHD medics and Porter fire crews administered life-saving measures to the victim for nearly 30 minutes before he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The westbound feeder road was shut down in the area for an investigation by the DPS (Department of Public Safety) but was reopened at around 1:00 a.m.
