Motorcyclist dies after colliding with turning pickup truck in Cypress

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man was killed last Friday in a motorcycle accident involving a pickup truck hauling a utility trailer in Cypress, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred at 8900 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road at the West Road intersection on November 12, at about 6:50 a.m.
Authorities said a man was driving northbound in a white 2015 Ford F-350 with an affixed utility trailer was in the the left turn only lane at West Road. He maneuvered his truck into the northbound lane in an attempt to make an improper left turn. As the truck began to turn, the front-left of a black 2012 Yamaha V Star motorcycle hit the left side of the F-350.
Cy-Fair EMS crews said the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No further information has been released regarding possible charges, but the case is being handled by the HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
