SPRING, TX – A mother is facing charges following a fiery car accident that caused injury to her and her son Saturday in Spring, according to FOX 26 Houston.
The accident happened at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2920 and Grand Parkway, in the 7200 block of State Highway 99, at about 2:45 a.m. when 28-year-old Erika Long swerved from lane to lane and then collided with the cable divider in the center of the roadway.
The vehicle, a Honda Fit, then burst into flames and traveled off the side of the roadway.
Long was airlifted to Memorial Hermann with non-life-threatening injuries. Her son, a 6-year-old, was airlifted to Galveston with critical, severe burns.
Long is facing charges of intoxication assault, as authorities believe a DWI contributed to the accident.
