METRO police cruiser damaged, officer injured in crash on U.S. 290

HOUSTON, TX – A METRO police cruiser was damaged in a crash on the morning of Friday, December 11, ABC 13 reports.
A METRO police officer had reportedly arrived to the scene of a crash near Barker Cypress and Skinner Road around 1 a.m. Shortly after arriving at the scene, another car crashed into the police cruiser.
The officer involved was taken to the hospital but was released afterward. The other driver involved is believed to have been under the influence at the time of the crash and now faces criminal charges.
