Mentone – Sarah Dorman Died in Two-Car Collision SH 302

A two-car accident on State Highway 302 caused the death of a Monahans woman in Loving County last October 11.
According to initial reports, the incident took place just after 4:00 p.m., five miles of Mentone. A Ford F-250 pickup truck, driven by 21-year-old Sarah Dorman, was approaching SH 302 when it collided with a Peterbilt truck-tractor that was towing a semi-trailer. Dorman was killed from the impact of the collision.
The driver of the truck-tractor was not injured. He was identified as Jose P. Bonilla-Melendez, 30, of Odessa.
Initial investigation indicates that the Peterbilt failed to yield the right of way to the pickup truck which prompted the accident.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the accident. No further details are available at this time.
