Mauriceville – Pedestrian Collision on Texas 12 Leaves 1 Dead

A deadly auto versus pedestrian crash on Texas 12 caused the death of one person in Mauriceville, Tuesday evening.
At around 7:00 p.m., police received a call reporting an auto collison at the 10,000 block of Texas Highway 12. According to the initial report, a pedestrian was seen crossing the roadway when a westbound Dodge Nitro struck him, leaving the victim seriously injured. The pedestrian, whose identity has yet to be released, was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who arrived at the scene.
No one else was reportedly injured.
Authorities did not provide details about the driver who struck the pedestrian. Whether or not he remained at the scene remains unclear at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
