Maud – Hit and Run Crash on Highway 67

Maud local authorities are still searching for the driver who fled the scene after hitting a pedestrian on Highway 67 in Maud.
At around 3:20 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety officials were requested to assist in an auto versus pedestrian crash on Highway 67 near Highway 8. According to the initial report, a woman had been walking across the said cross street when she was struck by an undescribed vehicle. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the female pedestrian had already succumbed to her injuries. Her identification was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
The driver who struck the victim did not render aid to the victim and escaped the scene. His whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
Local investigators are trying to pull surveillance footage from nearby establishments that may have captured the incident.
