Martin County – New Mexico Man Killed in Two-Car Crash on SH 176

A two-vehicle collision on State Highway 176 killed one person and injured another, last Thursday.
At around 4:35 p.m., local officials were dispatched to SH 176, north of Stanton, in response to a call reporting a collising between a pickup truck and a semi-truck. According to the report, a semi-truck had been traveling along the highway when its tire blew out which caused its driver to lose control. It continued on and crashed into a GMC pickup truck. The impact of the collision injured the driver of the semi-truck. He was immediately transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with unknown condition. Authorities said his injuries were considered non-incapacitating. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced deceased by emergency crews.
No other injuries were reported at this time.
