Manor–Early Morning Crash on Highway 290 E

A fatal car accident on Highway 290 E caused the death of one person and injured two people, according to a release by the Manor Police Department.
Monday, at around 5:20 a.m., local police officers were requested at Hwy 290 E near Cedar Street. Based on a preliminary investigation, a sport utility vehicle crashed into the side of an 18-wheeler that was attempting to turn. Authorities are yet to release factors that led to the collision.
The force of the impact was so great that it trapped both the driver and passengers of the SUV inside the wreckage. Emergency crews transported all occupants of the SUV to Dell Seton Hospital for treatment. The driver was listed in emergency care while the rear passenger suffered from non-life threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the third occupant had succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
No identification has been released.
The MPD crash team is investigating the crash to determine liability.
