JASPER COUNTY, TX — A 33-year-old man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after his car collided head-on with a tree near northwest Jasper, according to KJAS.
Angelina River firefighters and medics responded to the scene on Sam Rayburn Parkway (Recreational Road 255) near County Road 61 shortly after midnight.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was behind the wheel of a 1999 Chevrolet car heading westbound when he lost control control, causing the car to run off the parkway and strike the tree.
First responders arrived to find the driver unresponsive and trapped inside the wreckage.
The victim was first rushed to a Lufkin hospital before being airlifted to Houston’s Hermann Memorial, where he was listed in very serious condition.
