Man riding scooter hit by car in southeast Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man riding a scooter was hit by a car in southeast Houston late Saturday night, according to Click2Houston.
The man was hit while riding a scooter near the intersection of Southlea Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 12 a.m. The driver of the car fled the scene of the crash but was later detained by authorities.
The unidentified victim suffered head trauma in the collision and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
An investigation into the crash remains open at this time.
