Man killed in crash while fleeing Houston Police

HOUSTON, TX – A man died in a crash Tuesday afternoon after fleeing from Houston Police.

According to a report by KTRK, the chase ensued after reports came in of a man assaulting his wife.

Once police arrived at the scene of the incident, the 51-year-old male suspect drove off in a gray Honda.

Moments after the chase ensued, the man lost control of the Honda and slammed into the back of a Ford pickup truck in the 7200 block of Hillcroft Ave.

The suspect was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died a short time later. His wife was also hospitalized for injuries sustained in the assault.

The driver in the pickup was unhurt.
