Man in private driveway fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in N Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A man standing in a private driveway was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver last night in north Houston, according to KHOU.
The collision occurred in the 600 block of Gulf Bank Road in the Meadowviewland area, at about 9:30 p.m.
The victim, James Kessler, was reportedly in a private roadway as he was helping the operator of a trailer reverse into the driveway.
Kessler was struck by the driver of a purple Infiniti or Nissan, who then fled the scene without rendering aid.
Kessler died at the site of the crash.
The suspect’s vehicle may have damage to the driver’s-side mirror.
Authorities are asking those with any information on the crash to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-7400.
