Man hit and killed while moving tarp in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON, TX – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while attempting to move a tarp off the road in northeast Harris County, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Authorities say the man was pushing a shopping cart near 4200 Langley Road around 10:20 p.m. Sunday night. He then went into the roadway to move a tarp and was hit by a passing Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. The truck then crashed into a nearby ditch.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 68-year-old driver of the pickup truck has not been charged.
