Man fatally struck by fleeing driver after exiting vehicle following crash on the North Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man was fatally struck by a fleeing driver after exiting a vehicle following a crash on the North Freeway on Sunday morning, the Houston Police Department reports.
According to authorities, a minor crash occurred in the main, northbound lanes of the North Freeway around 5:35 a.m. A few minutes after the initial collision, a gold Honda Accord hit a black Hyundai, the latter of which was involved in the first crash.
The driver of the gold Honda exited his vehicle to inspect the damage to his car. He was then hit by a white Chevrolet van whose driver fled the scene on foot. The victim was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
