Man dies in collision with sign on the Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A man tragically died in a collision with a sign on the Southwest Freeway on Tuesday night, according to the Houston Police Department.
The victim, 35-year-old John Squires, was driving a grey Chevrolet Tahoe on the Southwest Tahoe when he attempted to exit the freeway via the Beltway 8 frontage road. He then struck a nearby curb, driving onto a median and hitting a TxDot signage pole.
He was declared dead at the scene.
