HOUSTON, TX – A man died after slamming into a metal pole near the Gulf Freeway on Sunday, KHOU 11 reports.
Authorities say the 28-year-old man was exiting the freeway at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car and crashed into a metal sign pole. His car then hit a tree before stopping in front of a nearby fence. The wreck was reported near Monroe Pr 1 Drive.
Another person inside the vehicle was injured but is expected to be okay. Investigators believe the crash may have been a result of road rage or street racing.
