Man dies after single-car crash in front of Kingwood residence

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A 74-year-old man was fatally injured Tuesday evening when he lost control of his car and hit a light pole in the Kingwood community, according to Houston Police Department.
Authorities said the incident occurred at 5300 Manor Glen Drive at around 5:20 p.m.
An early investigation by HPD Vehicular Crimes Division indicates the man was driving a black Mazda CX7 eastbound when he began experiencing a medical episode. Shortly after, he failed to maintain a single lane and swerved to the left side of the road where he struck the pole. The Mazda then came to a stop in the front yard of a nearby home.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities said no other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
An investigation into the crash remains underway.
