HOUSTON, TX — A 51-year-old man was fatally injured Monday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision near Houston’s Hidden Valley area, according to Houston Police Department.
The accident happened in the 8800 block of Veterans Memorial Drive at around 3:55 p.m.
HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division believes the man suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel of a tan Ford F-150 pickup truck heading northbound.
A preliminary investigation indicates he failed to control his speed and lost control of the pickup as it rear-ended a black Chevrolet Tahoe. The Ford then proceeded forward and collided with a Toyota 4Runner and a nearby tree.
Authorities confirmed the driver of the Ford was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
It was unclear whether anyone else was hurt.
An investigation remains ongoing.
