Man dies after colliding with a tree on Hughes Road

HOUSTON, TX – A man died after colliding with a tree on Hughes Road yesterday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Steven Chitty was driving a white 2016 Toyota Camry in the left lane near 9900 Hughes Road yesterday evening. He lost control of his vehicle, driving onto a grassy median in the middle of the road. He then hit a tree.
Chitty was rushed to Hermann Hospital-Southeast where he eventually died of his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
