HOUSTON, TX — A man was fatally injured early last Friday in a pedestrian crash involving a commercial semi-truck near north Houston’s Cypress Station area, reports the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened in the 80 block of Farm to Market 1960 Road West at about 12:37 a.m.
Authorities said a Freightliner Coronado with an affixed semi-trailer was going westbound in the second-left lane when the victim ran into its path. Moments later, the truck hit the victim with its front.
Medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. On December 19, three days after the incident, he died from his injuries.
Responding officers said the driver did not exhibit signs of intoxication at the scene, but an investigation by the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division remains ongoing.
