Man dies after being hit by vehicle on W 43rd St in NW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 55-year-old man died last Friday night after being struck by a driver walking across a road in northwest Houston’s Langwood area, reports Houston Police Department.

The incident took place in the 6500 block of West 43rd Street on December 17, at about 7:10 p.m.

Authorities said the victim was crossing several lanes of traffic when he was hit by a red Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital he was late pronounced deceased.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division said the driver of the Toyota, who stayed at the scene, was not suspected of intoxication and was released after questioning.

Authorities said an early investigation shows the victim failed to yield to the right of way of the vehicle. No charges are expected to be filed at this time.
