Man dies after being hit by SUV while crossing road in Greater Inwood

HOUSTON, TX — A man was killed Monday morning in a pedestrian accident after leaving his disabled car in the Greater Inwood neighborhood of northwest Houston, reports Houston Police Department.

HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the crash occurred at 6798 West Little York Road at around 5:35 p.m.

The man was driving a Toyota Corolla when it became disabled on the nearby esplanade. He got out of the Corolla and started crossing the unmarked intersection when he was hit by an eastbound Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed authorities.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation. Responding officers did not suspect him of impairment.

No further information has been disclosed, but an investigation remains in progress.
