Man dies after being hit by suspected DUI driver near Cloverleaf

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man died late Tuesday night after a pedestrian accident involving a suspected drunk driver near Cloverleaf, reports the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the fatal crash happened in the 15300 block of Wallisville Road at approximately 11:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victim was crossing the road and had failed to yield to a westbound 2020 Toyota C-HR when he was hit.

He was transported by EMS crews to Bayshore Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Responding officers suspected the driver of impairment and later arrested him after a blood draw. He was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
