Man dead, car split in half in speeding-related crash on Grand Pkwy

KATY, TX – A man died Sunday morning in Katy in a dramatic, car-splitting crash that was related to speeding, according to KTRK.
The accident happened at about 4:20 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Grand Parkway North, near Morton Road, when a man lost control of his vehicle while speeding. He traveled over the median and collided with a wall on the left side of the roadway.
The driver, who has yet to be publicly identified, died in the crash.
The vehicle was split in half in the collision.
Authorities were forced to close multiple lanes of traffic for several hours for the cleanup and investigation of the crash.
