Man charged with manslaughter following accident on Wayne Street

HOUSTON, TX – A man has been charged with manslaughter following an accident on Wayne Street that took place last night, according to the Houston Police Department.
Authorities say 43-year-old Kenneth Lionell Walker was speeding near 4107 Wayne Street when he ran a red light at the Crane Street intersection around 9:20 p.m. The impact of the collision caused his vehicle to roll over off the roadway and hit a nearby utility pole.
Walker was thrown from the car and sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the car, a 40-year-old woman, did not survive the wreck.
Walker has since been charged with manslaughter for his role in the accident.
