HOUSTON, TX – A man was charged with intoxication manslaughter in a fatal rollover accident that took place on State Highway 6 South this morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Richard Peniche was driving a 2000 Lexus GS300 near the 3500 block of State Highway 6 South at a high rate of speed. Peniche’s vehicle then struck the back of a 2017 Hyundai Accent that had just turned from a private drive. The initial collision caused the Hyundai to crash into a ditch and roll over, killing the individual inside the vehicle.
Peniche was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the crash and was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
