Lufkin – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision ID’d

The pedestrian who died in a fatal vehicle collision on Timberland Drive has been identified by Lufkin law enforcement officials last Tuesday morning.
At around 5:35 a.m., local authorities responded to Timberland Drive to assist in an auto versus pedestrian accident. According to initial reports, a woman reportedly walked onto the roadway and was then struck by a passing Chevy Camaro. The pedestrian, identified as Ruby Adams, 57, of Lufkin, died from the injuries she sustained in the accident. A local news source said that Adams has also apparently gone by the last names of Maxey and Crawford and appears to have previously lived in the Texas cities of Lubbock, Joshua and Cleburne.
Authorities did not release information about the driver of the Chevrolet. Whether he stayed at the scene or not is yet to be confirmed.
The case remains under investigation.
