A 69-year-old Bronson man sustained injuries as a result of a multi-vehicle collision on State Highway 103 last Thursday morning.

The injured victim was identified as Alton Craig, 69, of Bronson.

According to initial reports, a 2016 Dodge pickup truck was traveling along the westbound lane of SH 103 when it drifted onto the oncoming lanes and crashed into a 2016 Nissan sport utility vehicle driven by Craig. The force of the impact sent the Dodge onto the path of another vehicle, 2008 Dodge pickup truck driven by 47-year-old Juan Palacios, a resident of Lufkin.

Only Craig sustained injuries from the crash. He was rushed to Lufkin hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately disclosed.

Lufkin Police Department arrived at the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

We are deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of the injured victim. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. We strongly believe that the Lufkin Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Texas is among the states in the US that have the most car accidents which involved injuries and fatalities every year. Some of the common factors contributing to the rising cases of collisions in the area include the worsening traffic situation, weather conditions, and poor driving habits.

Bad driving habits are the greatest cause of a fatal crash. It can be lethal to the person behind the wheel, as well as the drivers on the road. Drivers who do not use their signal to change lanes or those who do not secure their blind spots before shifting direction are more likely to be involved in an accident. Some of the most dangerous driving habits include speeding, unsafe lane change, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a car accident with a negligent driver, you have a right to fair compensation for the trauma you experienced and the injuries you have suffered.
