Lubbock – Woman Injured in I-27 Collision Dies

According to Lubbock local officials, the woman who was hospitalized following a vehicle crash on Interstate 27 has died from her injuries.
The fatality was identified as Sylvia Martinez.
At around 4:00 p.m., DPS troopers responded to Regis Street near Interstate 27 to assist in a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and an RV. Details surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time but it was confirmed that one person suffered from critical injuries as a result of the crash. The victim, Sylvia Martinez, was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased four days after the day of the accident.
Authorities did not release information about the drivers involved. No charges have been filed as the investigation is still in progress.
