Lubbock – Victim of Two-Vehicle Crash on Fourth Street Identified

The Lubbock Police Department has identified the woman who died in a fatal car accident on 4th Street, Saturday afternoon, April 6.
The fatality was identified as 18-year-old Brenda Castorena. She’s one of the drivers of the vehicles involved in the fatal crash.
Brenda Castorena was driving her vehicle along the eastbound lane of 4th Street. As it approaches a turn lane she collided with a pickup truck that hauling a trailer which was traveling along the westbound lane.
Castorena was rushed to a local hospital where she was declared deceased upon arrival. A 22-year-old male passenger in the car and the 71-year-old male driver of the pickup truck were transported to a hospital for further care. Authorities said they both sustained serious injuries from the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the LPD Major Crash Investigation Unit.
