Lubbock – Victim identified in crash on University Avenue

Local police officers have identified the victim of the crash on University Avenue last December 16.
According to reports, the accident which involved a hit-and-run driver took place, early Sunday morning. Two vehicles were traveling on the road when, for unknown reasons, one vehicle drifted into the opposing lanes where it crashed into another vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim and escaped the scene. He was later identified as Richard Garcia.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as Nicomedes Ramos. He sustained injuries from the impact.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Garcia shows signs of intoxication. He was then arrested by authorities on DUI charges.
Investigation is still in progress.
