Lubbock – Tragic Crash on Marsha Sharp Fwy Leaves Several Injured

The Lubbock Police Department has released the name of the victims injured following a major collision on Marsha Sharp Freeway, Saturday morning.
Before 11:00 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety responded to Marsha Sharp after a vehicle collided with a concrete saw. According to the initial investigation, the said concrete saw fell from a truck as it travels down the highway. A car was not able to avoid the saw, striking it in the process. The vehicle sustained serious damages from the force of the impact.
The occupants of the vehicle, identified as Lupe Cooks and her husband, sustained injuries as a result of the collision. They were taken to Covenant Hospital where they received further medical attention.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
