At least three people were sent to a hospital after a major vehicular accident on Avenue Q, Saturday afternoon.
According to the Lubbock Police Department Major Crash Investigation Unit, local troopers were dispatched at 27th Street and Avenue Q after getting notified of a collision at around 4:30 p.m. It appears that a 2000 GMC that was heading north on Avenue Q collided with a 1983 Chevrolet that was traveling along the eastbound lane of 27th Street. Details surrounding the crash remain unclear at this time but it was determined that the drivers of both vehicles were hurt.
The driver and the passenger of the Chevy were rushed to a hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Meanwhile, the driver of the GMC suffered minor injuries and was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately released.
An investigation is underway.
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the injured victims. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Lubbock Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. To make sure your claim is successful, you need to gather supporting evidence and documents that can back up your claim. It could be a detailed account of the accident you are involved in or documents indicating the extent of injuries you sustained. These may include a video or photograph of the scene, police reports, and medical records, to name a few.
