Lubbock – Pedestrian Struck and Killed on US 84

A pedestrian was pronounced deceased following a fatal Sunday collision on US Highway 84, according to a local news source.

Just before 7:00 a.m., Lubbock police responded to US 84 to assist in a car accident near Farm to Market Road 1585. Initial investigation shows that a pedestrian was walking across the westbound lanes when a passing 2016 Honda Civic struck her. The impact of the crash fatally injured the pedestrian who was only identified as a 39-year-old female pedestrian. She later died at the scene, as per emergency crews.

The driver of the Honda was not hurt. It was not confirmed if he will be facing charges.

Area investigators are still gathering more information about the crash.
