Lubbock– Hit-and-run Victim of 27th Street Collision Identified

The woman who died in a fatal pedestrian collision involving a hit-and run driver has been identified by Lubbock law enforcement officials, according to a local news source.
Police named the fatality as 52-year-old Gloria Valdez. Reports show that Valdez was walking with her dog along 27th Street near Avenue Q when she was hit by a passing sport utility vehicle (SUV). The impact of the collision left Valdez with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead by emergency crews who responded to the scene. Her dog also died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene. His identification has yet to be released by local authorities.
Wednesday, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban was located in a nearby motel parking lot. Police believed that it was the suspect’s vehicle.
