Lubbock – Elderly Died in Pedestrian Crash on Slaton Highway

Lubbock police officials are investigating an auto versus pedestrian accident on East Slaton Highway, early Tuesday morning.
At around 2:00 a.m., a pedestrian crash took place in the 4500 block of East Slaton Highway. According to the report, a female pedestrian was walking along the eastbound lane of East Slaton Hwy when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The victim, who was only identified as a 68-year-old female pedestrian, sustained significant injuries due to the impact of the collision. She was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
Police did not release information about the driver of the vehicle involved. It was not clear if he remained at the scene.
The Lubbock Police Department is investigating the incident.
