Lubbock – Chain-Reaction Crash on Interstate 27

A woman was sent to the hospital after getting into a vehicle accident on Interstate 27 in Lubbock, early Sunday morning.
At around 3:00 a.m., police were dispatched to 4400 block of Interstate 27 in response to a call reporting a traffic accident. Initial investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling along the highway when it went out of control and crashed into a guardrail. A passing vehicle stopped to assist the driver of the first car but ended up being hit by a third vehicle. The impact sent the second car into the first vehicle, leaving its driver seriously injured.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they immediately transported the injured party to the nearest hospital. They said the victim suffered from serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
