Lubbock – Carmelita Martinez Injured after Colliding with Teen Driver on Milwaukee

A two-vehicle collision on Highway 84 resulted in injuries of three people, according to the release by Lubbock Police Department.

In the release, it indicates that the auto crash took place on Highway 84 at Milwaukee Avenue. Martinez was was driving a sedan along Highway 84 when an undescribed vehicle traveling from Milwaukee suddenly entered the highway and crashed into Martinez’ vehicle. The force of the impact left her with unknown injuries. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Her passengers, one of which was an 11-year-old child, suffered injuries that were considered minor.

The driver of the first vehicle was identified as Caden Gillespie, 16. He was not injured.

It remains unclear if Gillespie will be facing any charges.

Lubbock police continue to investigate the crash.
