Lubbock – 1 Seriously Injured on North Interstate 27

The Lubbock Police Department is currently investigating a vehicle collision on Interstate 27 that sent one person to a hospital, according to a local news source.
At around 5:30 p.m., local officials were dispatched at the 7800 block of North I-27 after they received a report of a crash involving a sport utility vehicle. How the crash happened remains unclear at this time but it was confirmed that one person suffered from serious injuries as a result of the collision. Police said that the said victim had to be extricated by emergency crews from the wreckage and was then transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, no one else was injured in the accident.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by LPD crash investigators.
One northbound access road lane remains open. Police ask that drivers avoid the area.
