Longview – Victim of Suspected Hit-and-run Crash on Green Street Identified

Longview law enforcement officials have released the name of the man who died in a suspected vehicle collision on Green Street, Tuesday night.
The fatality was identified as Harold Garrett. He is a 62-year-old resident of Longview.
At around 10:21 p.m., police officers were requested to assist in a collision on Green Street near the Nelson Street railway bridge. According to initial reports, an unconscious man was seen lying at middle of South Green St. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found an injured man who was later identified as Harold Garrett.
Garrett was immediately taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police and EMS said that Garrett sustained life-threatening injuries from the crash.
Details surrounding the accident are unclear at this time. Further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
