Lavaca County – Single-Car Crash on CR 260 Leaves 1 Dead

One person was pronounced deceased after getting into a vehicle accident on County Road 260, October 13th.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 7:00 a.m. on CR 260, two miles northeast of Moulton. A 1995 Ford F-250 pickup truck was head southwest on the road when he failed to negotiate a curve and drifted off the roadway. The pickup truck traveled through a grassy barrow ditch before crashing into several trees. The impact of the collision killed the driver instantly. He was only identified as a 21-year-old Moulton resident. He has no passenger.
Based on the initial investigation, the driver was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the accident.
