Laredo – Victim of Bicycle Crash on McPherson Road Identified

The Laredo Police Department has identified the bicyclist who died in a fatal collision involving a car on McPherson Road last Friday.
According to reports, the victim was named Jesus Alonzo Ruiz Armendariz, 55.
Armendariz was seen riding his bicycle at the 5500 block of McPherson Road when he was struck by a silver Land Rover. The impact of the crash left the bicyclist with various injuries, including a deformity to his right leg. Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported Armendariz to Laredo Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated and later died.
The driver of the Land Rover was not hurt. It was not confirmed if he remained at the scene until authorities arrived. His identification was withheld by police officials.
No citations have been issued as the investigation is underway.
