Laredo – Maria Herminia Cisneros-Rivera Killed in US 59 Crash

Laredo local officials have identified the woman who died in a fatal major car accident on US Highway 59 last Thursday, March 26th.

The fatality was named as Maria Herminia Cisneros-Rivera.

At around 5:30 p.m., local troopers responded to US 59, not so far from Las Lomas, following reports of a vehicle accident involving a 2016 Ford Fiesta and a Dodge pickup truck. The Ford Fiesta was reportedly attempting to merge lanes with the pickup truck which caused the driver of the pickup truck to evade and lose control of the wheel. The pickup truck then overturned, leaving its driver and passenger, Cisneros-Rivera, with fatal injuries. The driver was listed in an unknown condition while Cisneros-Rivera succumbed to her injuries.

It was not confirmed if the driver of the Ford was injured.

An investigation is underway.
