Laredo – Car Crashed into Truck on Frontage Road

Last Friday, a driver was pronounced deceased following a major vehicle collision on Frontage Road in Laredo.
Initial investigation indicates that the incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. at the 1119 block of Frontage Road. A flatbed truck was attempting to move to the side of the road when it was rear-ended by a red Honda Civic. The Honda ended up underneath the truck, leaving him with fatal injuries. The driver, who was identified as 23-year-old Ivan Villana, was immediately taken to the nearest hospital where he later died. He had no passenger.
The truck driver was not injured, as per reports.
Based on the initial investigation, the driver encountered a mechanical problem and was pulling over to check the truck.
The crash remains under investigation.
